Scrape off all excess leveler. After 3 days try pulling the tape off the floor. It is important to temporarily remove any nearby obstructions such as baseboard trim or toilets as these will need to rest upon the new vinyl.
The first coat should not extend above the surface of the floor at all.
Any bumps or irregularities in the subfloor will cause problems later on in the process. Apply a layer of thin-set tile adhesive to the vinyl using a notched trowel.
